Digital, print or video. Listening, researching, creating and producing. 
As a creative director I do what it takes to get that machine flying.

 

With extensive experience in leading multi-discipline creative teams in agencies and in-house, I'm an expert in piloting strong insight-based creative concepts through to practical execution that resonates with audiences.

A creative director and hands-on designer, my work covers branding, digital channels, e-commerce, social platforms, print, events and video. I'm endlessly curious about innovation and how great design is made. I'm dedicated to my craft and take a lot of pride in developing and inspiring my teams to produce superb creative work too.

I've developed great communication skills along the way, too. I build productive relationships with internal teams and external clients, really getting to the heart of how they work and what drives them.

This expertise, alongside my deep understanding of commercial strategy and my commitment to UX-led design, makes a major contribution towards the success of complex, collaborative projects.

Transformers Universe Beta website

I led the creative team to evolve the TU announcement site through Closed Beta to Open Beta, ready for full commercial launch. The site was a gateway to the game, showcasing and expanding the game experience.

  • I established a workflow so each new section followed a defined Scope>UX>Creative>Front-end Dev>QA>launch path with approval milestones along the way
  • During the period from announcement to Open Beta, I ensured the evolving brand remained consistent
  • We created a sub-brand for monetization promotions to drive retention, distinct from marketing campaigns, to draw new users into the game

Results:

  • Over 800k sign-ups over the spring and summer, exceeding targets
  • Increased time spent on site meant new users engaging with the backstory and lore of the new game
  • Brand development to distinguish Transformers Universe from the rest of the Transformers IP and attract a more adult player base

 

Play.com site redesign

I was creative director and design project manager for the successful redesign of the Play.com site and the brand’s email, social media, mobile and ATL executions.

  • Building the brand and aligning across all commercial channels during the complex technical development process, to maintain creative integrity and visual consistency
  • Training and motivating the team to keep delivering the new design consistently
  • Managing integration of onsite graphic work into an entirely new CMS and realigning the production process

Results:

  • Page views per visit increased
  • The bounce rate decreased and customers went through to deeper level pages via fewer clicks
  • The Play brand was clearly differentiated from our online competitors

 

RTC virtual sales service

As creative director and design project manager, I created an innovative personalised video “virtual sales” no-touch service for a US client. I pitched the concept and managed the complex creative process across the video shoot, production and web development.

Results:

  • The response rate more than doubled within a few weeks of launch
  • 48% went on to request an online quotation
  • The sales cycle shortened by 37%
  • More than 90% of sales now occur after a virtual sales demo
